Apple picking ...
Nestled into the foothills of the Smokies is a wonderful restaurant and gift shop in the bustling town of Pigeon Forge, the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and Apple Barn Cider Mill (gift shop.) This wonderful gift shop is filled with all things apple, including some pretty awesome apple butter which can be ordered online from their website. They also make a terrific apple fritter for which you can purchase the mix from their gift shop (in the barn, of course.) When you plan your next trip to the Smokies, be sure to make time for the Apple Barn. You'll be glad you did!
Pumpkin Time ...
In honor of "pumpkin season" we honor one of our most beloved illustrator/authors, Tasha Tudor. Her first book was called Pumpkin Moonshine and was published in 1938. It is still in print today and can be found online at Amazon.com and other booksellers. Tudor was a two time Caldecott Award medalist with over 90 books to her credit.
