Well, I have been busy with my artwork lately and here are three more drawings I had been working on for a friend who lives near me.  The first is her house now along with the photograph I took of it.

I took this photograph during winter, and it was a good thing I did, as the trees have filled in with their beautiful green leaves this spring to the point that the view of the house is somewhat obscured.

The second drawing is her house when she lived in Hilton Head, SC.  It is a lovely home, very natural looking wood in a muted gray-blue color.  This was one I had to sort of piece together from several different photographs, as there was not a straight-on shot of the home.

This last one is Dutch-colonial in style and is a very special place where her children did most of their growing up. 

It is a very special thing to me, to be able to do these drawings and imagine the wonderful memories that live in these lovely houses.

I am a member of a wonderful online community called The Bliss Guild, which is a group of women who are pursuing their dreams (bliss) through their own businesses.  This group originally formed in response to Victoria magazine’s The Business of Bliss, a book highlighting women who had taken their passions and turned them into profitable businesses.  I joined this group in January of 2007, just after I determined to learn web design and start my own online web magazine called Charm & Grace.   Since then I have been pursuing my dreams of doing artwork through web design and, as I have shared with you here, more recently through fine artwork.  It is such a blessing to be a part of this wonderful and talented group of women.  I have learned so much from so many who are part of the Bliss Guild community, and I am excited to tell you that right now on the Bliss Guild Blog I am the featured member. Well, after an unintentional two week blogging break, I am back and have several photos of some spring beauties to share. 

Wysteria is one of my favorite things about spring.  It is here such a short time, but it certainly does make its presence known during that time.  If you couldn’t see the blooms you would know it was there simply by the fabulous scent.  The day I was making these photographs, the bees were having an absolute field day.  I had to work hard to stay out of their way!

Can you just believe how beautiful it is?  The magnificent color is worth the fact that it seems to fully take over whatever it comes in contact with.  Unfortunately, I don’t have any in my own yard.  This bunch was found several miles from my home.  There is a good bit of it along the sides of the interstate, but then I would be crazy to try to stop and take photographs of it there.  I found this patch in a church parking lot and was able to stop and really get close enough to get some great shots of it.

Then there was this amazing cherry tree.  The blossoms were so abundant that it made the most exquisite silhouette against almost the same color sky.  It was an overcast day and with the white blossoms on a white sky – except for the tiny red centers, a green leaf here and there, and the branches – I suppose it might have disappeared from view.

I moved in close, and it seemed as if it would swallow me with its blossoms. 

And as I moved away from it, I was amazed that nearly every branch was full with blossoms.  It was truly magnificent, and the photos really don’t do it justice.
